Publication Scheme

FAL PUBLICATION SCHEME

This Publication Scheme aims to make the following classes of information relating to FAL (and where applicable, its previous incarnation as Forensic Science Service Ltd. (FSS)) available to the public on a continuous basis. We are committed to releasing more material in the future. FAL will make available information within the information classes described below, and will use its discretion to redact the documents in order to make them publically available, where necessary, and subject to the exemptions in the FOI Act.

Within each class of information, the specific information that FAL publishes or intends to publish is listed.  Under each class the following can be found:

  • A brief description of the information available within the class
  • The format in which the information is made available (for example, website, by e-mail or by post).  The website address is given but not the address of the page within the website as this can change. Use the menus, search function and browse feature on the website to find the relevant information.
  • Whether the class contains chargeable information.  Prices for Stationery Office publications are available on its website at www.tso.gov.uk.

CLASS: HOW WE ARE DOING

ANNUAL REPORTS FOR FSS SPANNING 1999-2010

This section contains previous annual reports to Parliament as relating to the FSS in pursuance of sections 5(2) and 5(3) of the Exchequer and Audit Departments Act. The annual reports include the total amount of income and expenditure; a statement of total recognised gains and losses and balance sheet up to the end of the financial years in question. Where applicable, they contain cash flow statements and information relating to staff costs and other operating charges. Where applicable, an overview of FSS’ performance and comparative information about its agency targets set for standards of service and financial performance is provided, together with results achieved and comparative information.
